ABOUT PIRANHO₂

PiranhO₂ provides oxygen to the Livewell/Baitwell areas of a fishing boat, increasing oxygen for the health and longevity of your fish and bait. This product was inspired by hearing tournament fisherman complain about keeping their fish and/or bait alive and healthy for weigh-ins.

By separating oxygen from nitrogen in the air through a process called Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), PiranhO₂ provides up to 95% oxygen, keeping the DO (dissolved oxygen) level in the Livewell/ Baitwell higher, limiting stress on fish and bait.

PiranhO₂ is small, compact, & self-contained. The 12vDC powered unit can be attached either directly to the boat battery, or through the boat console. The simple mounting strips allow for the device to be moved from boat to boat as needed. When compared to simple aerators, PiranhO₂ provides almost 4 times as much oxygen to the water. Unlike other units that work with electrolysis, there are no parts that need to be changed, and the unit can be used in both fresh water or salt water.

The PiranhO₂ unit uses our PSA technology to draw in air, seperate the oxygen (20.9%) from the nitrogen (78%), push the oxygen into the water, and discharge the nitrogen back out of the unit. The air going into the unit is 21% oxygen, and coming out is 95% oxygen. This same technology has been used to make medical grade oxygen for 50+ years. Our parent company, Pro O₂, has been using this very technique for 37 years in the oxygen concentrator business.

PiranhO₂ was designed around a simple concept: keeping fish alive. According to a study done by the Texas Wildlife Division, fish can lose up to 40% of their body weight once they are caught and placed in the boat. This leads to further strain on the other fish and the DO levels will continue to drop. Exchanging the tank water with lake water will increase the DO a bit, but not as much as direct oxygen into the water.

PiranhO₂ provides the same benefits that bottled oxygen system does, but at a better price point. The regulators, manifolds, and tanks typically cost $600- $1000. You then have to fill cylinders with oxygen as it is used, which increases cost for the gas + the time and labor involved in getting it filled. The PiranhO₂ will always make oxygen as long as it is plugged in and turned on. There are no special adapters or filters you need to make it function.
